Eucharist
The Sacrament of Holy Communion is the third of the Sacraments of Initiation. The Church urges us to receive Communion frequently (even daily, if possible), it is called a sacrament of initiation because, like Baptism and Confirmation, it brings us into the fullness of our life in Christ.

In Holy Communion, we are eating the True Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, without which “you shall not have life in you” (John 6:53).
In the life of the Church, the effort to educate our children has always been understood as the collaboration of church-school-home, with the primary educators in the faith always being the parents.
We’d like to make an attempt to put that into practice a little more tangibly. This year, we will ask you the parents to work alongside your children, with the provided resource, to provide the formal catechism and formation. This will be accompanied by a few gatherings at St. Francis Xavier for communal activities and further integration of the gift of the Sacraments.

I would like to request that each parent sign up for “Flocknote” by texting “Camrose” to 514-900-0130. Flocknote is a texting service and allows us to send you notes and reminders during preparation. Once signed up, include yourself in the group your child belongs (i.e. “Confirmation”). You can stop the texts at any time by texting back “STOP”.

In Christ,
Fr. Kristopher Schmidt
